Smoke Without Fire Electronic Cigarette

When asked recently to write about electronic cigarettes, I have to confess that I had never heard of such a thing. Some internet research later and I discovered that electronic cigarettes are very much in the moment and a quickly growing concern. A google search revealed there is no smoke without fire as almost six million results just for the phrase "electronic cigarette" were returned to me.

What is an electronic cigarette?

In existence for roughly three years, the electronic cigarette is a clever device aimed at providing smokers with a healthier option, to aid in smoking reduction and possibly to quit altogether.

Now in a fourth generation, electronic cigarettes have become much more user friendly than earlier versions which perhaps were a little too large to encourage a mass market appeal. The "mini"
is the most realistic e cigarette
to date with its length of 100mm being the same as a conventional cigarette.

An electronic cigarette contains a taste of tobacco but none of the harmful substances found in normal cigarettes allowing smokers cravings to be satisfied without inhaling the many dangerous toxins.

A battery, an atomiser and a renewable nicotine chamber allows the smoker to hold and smoke the electronic cigarette just as they would any other cigarette, even creating a "smoke" like vapour and glow at the end as they draw. The nicotine chamber proves very useful as cartridges are available in different strengths, permitting the user to reduce the amount of nicotine they intake until if they wish, can quit completely.

A nicotine cartridge typically lasts the same time as 15 to 20 cigarettes, thus creating a huge saving to normal costs.
Standard, medium, low and no nicotine at all are the various cartridge strengths.

A healthier option altogether it seems though the benefits don't end there. Due to the electronic cigarette not emitting any dangerous substances, toxins or real smoke for that matter, they are perfectly legal to smoke in public. In winter in particular, normal cigarette smokers have to brave the freezing cold and the rain just for a quick smoking break but this alternative will allow them to stay in their offices, restaurants and pubs. None smokers also will benefit, as their worries about passive smoking are rendered null and void by the electronic cigarette.
A much more sociable environment then!

Upon reflection the href=""/>electronic cigarette is a healthier, cheaper and environmentally friendly alternative to smoking and as the awareness and the market grows they have great potential to successfully replace the harmful cigarettes we have all come to know and many of us have come to dread and fear.
A little more reseach down the road and this becomes my second article about the electronic
cigarette.

When Is A Cigarette Not A Cigarette

Are you a family member still urging and battling with other members of the household to quit their smoking habits? Sick of them saying they will try to stop smoking, sick of your clothes and your skin smelling constantly of smoke even though you are not a smoker yourself?

Well for you, there may be some light at the end of the smoke filled tunnel. In fact there seems to be much light for all concerned, smokers and non smokers alike.

"Smart Smoker" claim they have an item that looks like a cigarette, feels like a cigarette, smokes like a cigarette but doesn't harm you like a cigarette! In fact Smart Smoker's list of claims is nothing short of remarkable, of which just a few
are:

Legal to smoke in public

No carcinogenic/cancerous toxins

Proven to work with smokers

No tobacco

80% cheaper than real cigarettes

Bold claims indeed! So what is this amazing sounding contraption?

According to Wikipedia an href="">e-cigarette (or electronic cigarette) is a "mechatronic version of a cigarette."

"The device takes the form of a tiny rod which is slightly longer than a normal cigarette. The mouthpiece of the device contains a replaceable cartridge filled with liquid. The main substances contained in the liquid are nicotine and propylene glycol. When the user inhales through the device, the air flow is detected by a sensor. A microprocessor then activates an atomizer or nebulizer which injects tiny droplets of the liquid into the flowing air and vaporises the nicotine. This produces a vapour mist which is inhaled by the user. The addition of propylene glycol to the liquid makes the mist better resemble normal cigarette smoke. The microprocessor also activates an orange LED at the tip to simulate real smoking."

It is also claimed by "Smart Smoker".that this interesting cigarette replacement, is successful in weaning smokers off real cigarettes, healthily reducing the amount of nicotine intake with replaceable cartridges carrying different levels of nicotine with the ultimate goal being a nicotine free cartridge.

If proven then surely this is the future of smoking? Smokers will still be able to satisfy their craving and begin to quit at the same time, not to mention being free to smoke in public once more! Meanwhile non smokers will not be subjected to the poisonous chemicals when their friends and family "light up" If it were to catch on this really could be an exciting and healthy alternative and even contribute to a cleaner, greener environment!
Electronic Cigarettes? I didn't know there was such a thing!
